Prosecco and Pilates

Two rooms, one standard: the home you actually live in, and the hour that keeps you upright.

A cream studio with arched mirrors and a row of reformers

Two rooms

Everything here belongs to
the kitchen or the studio.

Everything here belongs to one of two rooms. The kitchen, where the party ends up whether you planned it or not; and the studio, where the work is quiet and the results are slow.

Living

Rooms are judged by how they behave when eight people are standing in them. These are the choices that hold up.

Fitness

Pilates rewards patience and punishes shortcuts. Here is what the hour actually does, how to spend it well, and how it goes when the machine lives in your own house.

The person writing this

I do the work myself, then I tell you the truth about it.

No brand has ever paid to appear here and none has seen a draft before it published. What you get is one woman who trains at home on her own equipment, cooks in her own kitchen, and reports back on what actually held up.

The mood

Rooms that were thought about.

What the two rooms look like when somebody has thought about them: arched mirrors and quiet machines, a counter cleared for the party, a studio that gets the light right at four in the afternoon.

The Kitchen Is Where The Party Ends Up

Why I Practice At Home

House rules

The house is for living in, so the good glasses come out on a Tuesday.

An hour on the reformer is not a personality; it is maintenance, and it works whether the machine is in a studio or in your spare room.

Nothing on this site is sponsored, gifted, or written to flatter a brand.

A note

Why this exists

I spent seventeen years building brands for other people, which means I have opinions about how a room reads and how a body carries a long day. This is where I put the ones that have nothing to do with work: kitchens that hold eight people standing up, a reformer at home that actually gets used, and the small decisions that make an ordinary evening feel considered. It is written the way I would tell you over a glass at the counter, which is to say directly, and with the useful part first.
